Holiday dinner served to seniors

The Jefferson County Leisure Center members, along with the community, were again treated with a scrumptious meal on Friday, Dec. 8.  Hundreds of seniors braved the cold rain to enjoy the annual Edward James and Family Christmas dinner at Louisville Middle School. Thus, the unpleasant weather outside was a total contrast to the beautiful happenings inside.  The speaker, Wadley Mayor Harold Moore, mesmerized the audience with his speech, Getting Older Is the Best Thing That Happened to Me.   Other special guests included County Commissioner Gonice Davis, County Warden Calvin Oliphant, Kingdom Life Ministries Choir, and Actor Danny Glover.  The meal was catered by Patricia Fleming and staff.
