Pig ‘n’ Pie Fest Saturday

For the second year, Mary West Productions is holding a festival, the Pig n Pie, in Wrens.
“It’s the last chance to do your festival shopping before Christmas,” West said.
Even though last year the festival was held on a day where other things were going on in the county, the first day of hunting, the Speir’s Festival in Bartow, West said about 400 attended the event in Wrens.
“We had a great crowd considering we had competition. Last year was good,” she said. “The pie-eating contest was a hit. We’re doing that again.”
West said this is a family-friendly festival that has good food and arts and crafts.
“(We’re) riffing off a festival that occurred in the past. The city put it on, but then it stopped. We decided to put it on with a more updated version with things people are looking for in festivals these days.”
Besides food vendors and arts and crafts, West said there will be booths with Tupperware, Plunder, Posh, Paparazzi, Graice-Usry Farms and other vendors.
“There will be barbecue, fish, hamburgers and hotdogs, desserts, lemonade and all kinds of yummy things. This is an opportunity for local businesses to advertise themselves and let people know they’re here. We have a number of businesses who will have booths. Churches and the DAR, too,” West said.
“Help us raise money for the Jefferson County Family Y by signing up online at our website marywestpromotions.com/festival and click on the red 5k button which will take you to raceentry.com. On the day of the race/walk sign in is from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and the race and walk begins promptly at 9 a.m. behind the McCollum Public Library at 405 N Main St, Wrens,” she said.
The festival is Saturday, Nov. 4, at the intersection of N Main and Griffin streets.
