Wadley man charged in home burglary

Wadley police officers arrested Antwan Decorie Gilmore, 37, of Wadley Wednesday, Sept. 13, and charged him with burglary, forgery of a financial transaction card and misdemeanor theft by taking.
Officers responded to a burglary and theft inside the city on that day.
The suspect, Antwan D. Gilmore, allegedly entered a residence and took approximately $125 and a wallet containing an ATM card and other personal documents, Wadley Police Chief Jimmy Butts stated in a press release.
“Sgt. Kenneth Scott and Officer Carnell Wright conducted several interviews and seized all property items in Gilmore’s possession at the time of arrest,” the chief stated.
An estimated $300 was withdrawn from a local ATM involving two transactions, he said.
Current investigation continues.
