Garden Club holds Youth Flower Show
The Louisville Garden Club is sponsoring a Youth Flower Show for all Jefferson County students in 5th-12th grades on Friday, April 28, at 4 p.m. at the Jefferson County Extension/4-H Office. All material will be provided; and, the winning arrangements will be on display at the Spring Art Show in downtown Louisville April 28-30. Glascock Co. Historical Society meeting
The Glascock County Historical Society will hold a program on The Twin Scandals of Early Georgia:The Great Yazoo Fraud and The Pine Barrens Speculation. During the April 6 meeting, attendees will hear author William Rawlings speak on these fascinating events drawn from our shared past.  The meeting will be held at the Glascock County Community Center (Braswell Park) at 7 p.m.

WMS beauty pageant
Wrens Middle School will hold its annual beauty pageant on Thursday, March 30, at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Recreation Department registration deadlines
Registration at the Jefferson County Recreation Department in Louisville is going on for the following sports:
• T-ball: Must be 3 by May 1; open to girls/boys age 3 and 4; fee is $35; Deadline is March 15.
• Coach Pitch: Must be 6 by May 1; open to girls/boys age 5 and 6; fee is $35; Deadline is March 15.  
• Softball: Must have been 7 by Jan. 1; open to girls ages 7 and up; fee is $34; Deadline is March 15. 
• Baseball: Must be 7 by May 1; open to boys ages 7 and up.

WellCare invites you to their Baby Shower Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m.to noon and a Women’s Health Medicaid Workshop from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Jefferson Hospital Classroom. TJA PTO offers Sunday dinner
Thomas Jeffferson Academy’s PTO will offer Sunday dinner Feb. 12 and will begin serving at 11:30 a.m. The menu includes: fried chicken, ham, mashed potato casserole, broccoli casserole, green beans, cream corn, mac and cheese, deviled eggs, congealed salads, homemade desserts and tea. Dinners are $10/adults and $5/10 years and under.
 
American Legion meeting
American Legion Post 229 will meet on Monday night, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., at Peggy’s Restaurant.  All veterans are invited.

Wrens Baptist Church in association with Shepeard Blood Center will hold a blood drive Jan. 4, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the church’s parking lot.

Bartow Community Club will  hold its first covered dish supper and Bingo game on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Planning for healthy babies event
A Wellcare representative will host a Planning For Healthy Babies event in the Jefferson Hospital Classroom on Thursday, Dec. 29 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This event is for women ages 18-44 who have recently delivered or those who are in need of women’s health services and who do not have health insurance coverage. Educational information will be given and participants will have the opportunity to complete an online application.

Clothes give away
The Department of Juvenile Justice will be having a clothes give-away on Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. to noon. All items will be free to the public.
