Support local artists at the guild’s annual exhibit April 19-28
The Arts Guild of Jefferson Count ywants to make everyone aware of its 10th Anniversary of the Spring Exhibit, which is scheduled for April 19-28, with the Artist Reception on Friday, April 19, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Artists of the area are urged to turn in applications for entry, which can be picked up at the Jefferson County Information Center or at Twisted Sisters, by April 4th. Up to four pieces can be submitted and all artists are invited to participate. For more information call guild president, Donna Borders at (478) 625-3727 or Candis Freeman at (407) 415-0490.
This year’s event will include all types of artwork exhibited in several locations in downtown Louisville including the Fire House Gallery and The Gatherings. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served; live music will be performed by Savannah’s Pete Love and special guest Bethany Kathleen, both with family connections to our area.
Pottery, paintings, photography, three-dimensional sculptures and wood work will be on display making the 10th anniversary event special. Recognition will be given to charter members of the guild, some of whom are deceased. The group continues to grow in numbers, and spread the love for art throughout the region, but the public’s support is needed to keep the cultural activities alive and flourishing.
Everyone is encouraged to invite family and friends and enjoy a night on the town, appreciating the areas artists and their talents.
