Mr. William “Billy” Franklin Davis Jr.
Mr. William “Billy” Franklin Davis Jr., 65, of Bartow entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at his residence.

A native of Louisville, Mr. Davis was a son of the late William Franklin Davis Sr. and Brownie Ivey Davis. He worked with the Jefferson County Road Department as a heavy equipment mechanic. Mr. Davis was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church for more than 50 years where he served as a deacon.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Old Bethel Baptist Church, with Dr. Bill Eckles and Rev. Randy Mims officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Virginia “Ginger” Davis of Bartow; two sons, Charles Franklin Davis of Cleveland, and Jonathan S. Davis of Bartow; aunt and uncle, George and Annette Ivey Jr. of Kite; and several cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials be made to the Old Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 1275 Old Bethel Church Road, Bartow, GA 30413, or a charity of one’s choice.

Mrs. Eva Lue Whigham Habersham
Mrs. Eva Lue Whigham Habersham of Louisville entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at UPAC, Louisville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Louisville. Burial will follow in the Cour Dilon Cemetery, Louisville.

Mrs. Habersham was a native of Jefferson County. She was married to the late Tommie L. Habersham Sr. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son, Tommie L. Habersham Jr.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mary (Leotis Flournoy) Habersham of Louisville; grandchildren, Tommie L. (Chelsea Holloway) Habersham III of Altamonte Spring, Fla., Tonia Habersham Williams of Sanford, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Victor M. Rodriquez of Orlando, Fla., Shannon M. Rodriquez of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Alethia Royes of Lincoln, Neb., Anthony L. Williams of Sanford, Fla., and Jordan J. Habersham of Aiken, S.C.; great-great-grandchild, Christine (John) Damond of Hampton; cousins and caregivers, Grace Ann Williams and Krystal Williams, both of Louisville; goddaughter, Sonya Smith of Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Dahlia Usry Kneece
Mrs. Dahlia Usry Kneece of Augusta entered into rest on Aug. 31, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Kneece was the wife of the late Mr. Gene Ray Kneece. She was from Glascock County and was retired from Kendall Company after 21 years.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. at McNeill Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Todd officiating.

Survivors include four children, Robbie Couch (Debra), Diane Hall (John), Teresa Adams (Ronald) and Sam Couch (Shanda); 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. James David “Jim” Terrell
Mr. James David “Jim” Terrell, U.S. Army, of Wrens entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at 1 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Tommie Walker and Rev. Charles Dumas Jr. officiating.

Burnett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Mr. Dessie Thomas Sr.
Mr. Dessie Thomas Sr., 91, of Louisville entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Thomas was a native of Jefferson County. He was the son of the late Albert Thomas and Hattie Jenkins Thomas. He was married to the late Louise Boyd Thomas. He was a member of the Greater St. Matthews AME Church, Louisville, and he was a truck driver for Louisville Fertilizer and Gin.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Greater St. Matthews AME Church, Louisville. Burial followed at Spring Bethel AME Church, Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two children, Dessie Thomas Jr. and Albert Willie Thomas; siblings, Lizzie Jenkins, Junnie Williams and George Williams; and one granddaughter, LaShonda Thomas.

Survivors include his children, Hattie Mae Kittles, Lula Gamble, both of Louisville, Dessie Mae Williams of Bartow, Barbara (Alvin) Whitfield of Waynesboro, Perry (Jessie) Thomas of Stapleton, and Raymond (Brenda) Thomas of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Ruby Thomas of Louisville; sister-in-law, Earnestine Williams of Augusta; grandchildren, Priscilla, Pam, Johnny, Victor, Solomon, Carole, Clarence, George, Mary, Albert, Alvonia, Betty, Katoria, Terry, Minnie, Diane, Cynthia, Freddie, Willie, Kendra, Perry, Trenton, Cassie, Yvette, Kerry, Erica, Tosha, Raymond, Conquia, Shain, Tironza, Zentrell, Brandon, Burton Jr., Kwane, Etweice, Albert Jr., Rodney, Kentrell, Terrence, Stephanie, Jeremy and Trovoskie; 104 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
