Mr. Mack Arrington
Mr. Mack Arrington, 71, of Hephzibah entered into rest on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor John Raborn officiating. Interment will be private.
Mr. Arrington served in the U.S. Navy onboard The USS Saratoga and was a member of the USS Saratoga Association. He formerly owned Mack’s Kuntry Stores.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles R. “C.R.” Arrington.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Arvida Arrington; daughter, Stacy Arrington Gary (Edmond Kida) of Augusta; son, Edward M. Arrington (Cheryl) of Evans; sisters, Helen Landrum of Stapleton, Laura Joann Verbeck of California and Ruth Blanchard of Avera; two grandchildren, Joshua Mack Martin (Brandy) and Taylor Michelle Gary; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Lynn Martin and Conner Mack Martin.

Miss Amy Jo Guerrero
Miss Amy Jo Guerrero, 35, of Wrens entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Jefferson Hospital.
The family will hold private services at a later date.
Born to the late Alexis Craner Guerrero and the late Almador Salas Guerrero, Miss Guerrero grew up in Michigan. She lived in Florida 10 years before moving to Wrens with her family a little more than a year ago.
Survivors include her companion of 21 years, Glen Landreville; three children, Austin Lee Landreville, Jacob Montgomery Landreville and Shelby Caprice Landreville; her stepfather, Thomas Beatty; and canines, Pebbles and Dixie.

Mr. Desmond Gerrard Hughes
Mr. Desmond Gerrard Hughes of Evans entered into rest on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011.
Mr. Hughes was born in Augusta on May 19, 1992, to Jesse Hughes and JoAnne Brown. He was a member of The Bean Pond Baptist Church, Jackson, S.C. He graduated from Evans High School on May 22, 2010, and was a member of the Evans High School cross country and track teams, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Columbia County 4-H. He attended Anderson University in Anderson, S.C., where he majored in business management and was a member of the track team. He was employed at Hughes Business Services in Augusta for 15 years.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel, Paine College. Interment was in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his parents, Jesse Hughes and JoAnne Brown of Evans; three sisters, Ivana Hughes of Evans, Jessica Lewis of Atlanta, and Ebony Hughes of Orlando, Fla.; three brothers, Mario Hughes of Louisville, Jesse G. Hughes III of Atlanta, and Alan Manual of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandmother, Polly Brown of Jackson, S.C.; grandfathers, Jesse Hughes Sr. of Buffalo, N.Y., and Henry Brown of Jackson, S.C.; one great-grandmother; two aunts; four uncles; four nieces; two nephews; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends.

Miss Addie Bell Mitchell of Wadley entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in Louisville.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Spears Grove Baptist Church, Wadley, with Rev. C.W. Stone officiating. Burial was in San Clair Baptist Church Cemetery, Wadley.
Survivors include her sister, Sylvia M. (Dave) Gibbons Sr.; four brothers, A.B. (Shirley) Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Leroy Mitchell and John (Florence) Mitchell, all of Wadley; one grandson, Michael (Tamika) Mitchell, Atlanta; a great-grandson, Caleb Rahmel Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Alicia Anne Neely, 45, of Plantation, Fla., entered into rest on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Ways Grove Baptist Church, Wrens, with Rev. Charles Washington as eulogist, and Rev. Jimmy McCullough III and Rev. James O. Nelson presiding. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Wiley, Harrison Porter, Shaquita M. Neely and Jalicia Neely; grandmother, Dona L. Nelson; brothers, Bobby Nelson, Michael Nelson, Robert Neely, Lee Morris Neely, Jimmy Neely and Gary Ward; granddaughter, Zoriah Neely; and stepfather, Jerry Ward.

Mr. John Willie Walker
Mr. John Willie Walker, 72, of Gough entered into rest on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Brentwood Nursing Care, Waynesboro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Clair Baptist Church and Cemetery, with Rev. Tommie Walker as eulogist.
Mr. Walker was a native of Burke County, the son of the late Mose Walker and Fannie Mae Atwell Walker. He attended the Burke County School System and St. Clair Baptist Church.
