Chad Dean Black
Mr. Chad Dean Black, 28, of Gibson died Monday, April 24, 2006.

Mr. Black, a native of McDuffie County, lived in Glascock County most of his life. He was a member of Gibson Church of God. He worked for R&R Seeds Company.

The funeral was April 27 at 3 p.m. at the Gibson Church of God with the Revs. Butch Baston and Steve Lamb officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, Melvin Black and Margie B. Reese; step-father, Dennis W. Reese; two brothers, his twin Chris Black, Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Greg Black, Thomson; five nieces and nephews, Ashton Black, Hollie Black, Ansley Black, Jaycee Black and Alexus Paris.

Pallbearers were Scott Usry, Darrell Usry, Jason Usry, Jason Perry, Dean Kitchens and Noah Black Jr.

Willie Edward Latimer
Mr. Willie Edward Latimer of Mitchell died Friday, April 21, 2006, at McDuffie Regional Hospital in Thomson.

Dea. Latimer was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where he served on the Usher and Deacon Board.

The funeral was April 28 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. J.A. Lockhart officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Lizzie P. Latimer; three sons, Sgt. 1st Class Willie D. Latimer, Augusta, Jimmie Latimer and Lorenzo Latimer, Lincolnton; five daughters, Carol Sue Latimer, Mitchell, Betty Burns and Christine Kuhn, Warrenton, Edna Lewis, East Point, and Celestine Morgan, Decatur; one sister, Annie D. Lemons; one brother, James C. Kitchens; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Dawson's Mortuary, Warrenton, was in charge of the arrangements.


Mindy Milburn
Miss Mindy Milburn, 26, of Wrens died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at her residence.

Miss Milburn, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Walden United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Jefferson County High School. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Billy "Pa" Rhodes, and grandmother Grace Usry Milburn.

The funeral was April 28 at 4 p.m. at Wrens Baptist Church with the Revs. Marvin Goodman, Paul Moore and Chad Penny officiating.

Survivors include her parents, Vicky and Dale Gingery and Vince Milburn; two brothers, Matthew Milburn and Nicolas Milburn, Thomson; maternal grandmother, Joan "MaMa Jo" Rhodes; paternal grandparents, Durham and June Milburn; aunt, Julie (Phillip) Johnson and cousins, Megan, Mallory and Karli; aunt, Pam (Rodney) Smith and cousins, Jeff (Shannon) Smith, Chase (Brooke) Smith, and cousin McKenzie; aunt, Kristie Milburn; and uncle, James "Rhodie" Rhodes.

Pallbearers were Marcus Howard, Andy Austin, Craig Norton, Kip Prescott, Robert Jones, Jeremy Gay, Todd James and Jamie Spragis.

Virginia Hayes Williams
Mrs. Virginia Hayes Williams, 76, of Keysville died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at University Hospital in Augusta.

The funeral was May 2 at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Atkinson officiating. Burial was in Stapleton Memorial Garden.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Williams Sr.; her children, Connie (Willie) Moss and Charles Kenneth (Lisa) Williams Jr., Stapleton, Cherry (Carey) Smith, Harlem, Sue (Buddy) Utley, Matthews; two sisters, Ruby Stevenson and Dorothy James; a brother, Walter Hayes; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Greg Watts, Ricky Williams, John Cumbee, Tony Ellis, Jerry Perkins, Chris Newsome, Keith Williams and Victor Utley.

James Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
