Elizabeth H. Berry
Mrs. Elizabeth H. Berry, 65, of Wrens died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005.

Mrs. Berry is predeceased by a son, Vincent Edward Berry.

The funeral was Dec. 4 at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Dent presiding and the Rev. Thomas Berry, eulogist. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, John Berry Sr.; two sons, John Berry Jr. and Ronald Louis Berry; and two daughters, Barbara Renee McMillan and Jacklon Denise Berry, all of Wrens.

Eunie Mae Daniels
Mrs. Eunie Mae Daniels, 93, of Midville died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005.

Mrs. Daniels, a native of Emanuel County, was the daughter of the late Jordan and Angeline Green. She attended Emanuel County schools. She served on the Usher Board for 40 years and was a member of the Fair and Honest Society.

The funeral was Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Midville, with Elder Ronnie Harden Sr. presiding and the Rev. Bennie Brinson officiating.

Survivors include three sons, Benjamin Daniels, Atlanta, William Earl Daniels, Pahokee, Fla., and Arthur Lee (Debra) Daniels, Wadley; one daughter, Annie (Gonice) Davis, Wadley; 31 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Jogresan Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.


Vina Walden Eppings
Mrs. Vina Walden Eppings of Brunswick died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at Southeast Georgia Health Systems.

Mrs. Eppings, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of St. Andrews CME Church. She was employed at Fred's Drug Store in Darien.

The funeral will be Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews CME Church with the Revs. Leroy E. Dumas and Thomas Roberts officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Eppings; a daughter, Rosetta W. Lewis, Brunswick; sister, Elsie Walden, Louisville; brother, George Walden, Louisville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were the Male Fellowship of St. Andrews CME Church.

Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Brunswick Funeral Home, Inc.

Brenda R. Jackson
Mrs. Brenda R. Jackson, 57, of Millen died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, at Jenkins County Hospital.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Jefferson County. She was an artist and homemaker and a member of Long Branch Church of God.

The funeral was Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at Long Branch Church of God. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Billie Lynne Williams, Millen; her son, Chris Jackson, Sardis; her sister, Karla Brookins, Waynesboro; her brother, Franklin Rabitsch, Millen; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Roy Thomas Kirkland
Mr. Roy Thomas Kirkland, 86, of Dearing died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005.

Mr. Kirkland was born in Wrens and was the son of Ollie Crawford Kirkland and Ada Newsome Kirkland. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and the Iwo Jima Invasion. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He had retired from civil service with the weapons department and was a member of NARFF. He was a member of the Harlem United Methodist Church, the Walton Griffin Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Men.

The funeral was Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Harlem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roger Vest and Rudolph Dixon officiating. Burial was in the Dearing Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Taylor Kirkland, Dearing; one daughter, Bebe C. Miles, Cumming; one brother, James Oliver Kirkland, Atlanta; one sister, Virginia Fox, Batesburg, S.C.; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Bobby Culpepper, Oran Johnson, Billy Wells, Lloyd Axon, Allen Axon, Jack McCorkle and Larry Fulmer.

Honorary pallbearers were the Walter Griffin Sunday School Class, Charles Brewer, Buck Story, Pete Llewellyn, Jack Hatcher, Chris Logue and William Helmly.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Hospice, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319; or to the Harlem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 39, Harlem, GA 30814.

Kimberly Sheryl Ray
Miss Kimberly Sheryl Ray, 35, of Thomson, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

Miss Ray was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She worked at McCorkle Nurseries Inc. She is predeceased by her grandfather John Rogers.

The funeral was Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. at James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Jordan officiating.

Survivors include her father, Johnny Ray; her mother, Judy Mays; two brothers, Kevin Fain, Wrens, and Derrick Fain, Thomson; two stepbrothers, James Laughery, Harlem, and Robert Laughery, Grovetown; a stepsister, Erica Walker, Byron; paternal grandparents, Doc and Reba Phillips; and maternal grandparent, Vivian Rogers.

Pallbearers were Kip Prescott, James Laughery, Cody Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Jonathan Parrish, Jim Heinold and Baron Heinold.

Mattie Lee Gay Revels
Mrs. Mattie Lee Gay Revels, 82, of Keysville died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Burke County Medical Center.

Mrs. Revels was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Graveside services were Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Race Lariscy officiating.

Survivors include a sister, Betty Boss, Harlem.

Shirley A. Usry
Ms. Shirley A. Usry, 35, of Stapleton died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.

The funeral was Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at Harts Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. W.L. Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her parents, John Henry and Lois Jean Usry; brothers, Nicholas Usry, Rev. Darryl Burns and DeAndre Hannah; sister, Veronica Jenkins; paternal grandmother, Myrtle Usry; maternal grandmother, Ophelia Lane; goddaughter, Jessica Lockhart; special friend, Charles Jordan; nine aunts; six uncles and several nieces and nephews.

Calvin Walker Sr.
Mr. Calvin Walker Sr., 50, of Wrens died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005.

Mr. Walker was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Sherita McBride.

The funeral was Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. at Lofton AME Church with the Rev. Samuel Thompkins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Calvin Walker Jr., Augusta; two daughters, Dorothy Walker (Trent) Dolphus, Augusta, and Valerie Walker, Wrens; two stepsons, Phillip McBride III and Christopher Walker; stepdaughter, Latashia Walker; mother Eunice Wynn Walker, Stapleton; sisters, Eloise Davis and Mattie Walker, Stapleton, Louise Walker, Wrens, Laverne Heggs, Louisville, and Christine (Jerry) Dennis, Atlanta; brothers, Johnnie (Montress) Walker and Pressley (Mary) Walker, Wrens, and Morris (Sarah) Walker, Thomson; special friend, Denise Parker; and nine grandchildren.

Adolphus Wells Jr.
Mr. Adolphus Wells Jr. of Hephzibah died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at University Hospital in Augusta.

Mr. Wells, a native of Glascock County, was employed with T.B. Bulldozing Company and was a member of Harts Grove Baptist Church.

The funeral was Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at Harts Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Willie Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wells; three daughters, Cynthia Witcher, Priscilla Butler, Augusta, and Linda Wells, Thomson; four sons, Tony (Pamela) Wells, Augusta, Bruce Wells, Washington, D.C., Michael Wells and Larry Wells, N.J.; six sisters, Marie Lewis, Mattie Mikiel, Gertrude Hamby, Mamie R. Wells, Philadelphia, Pa., Margaret L. Brown and Evella Farmer, Wrens; two brothers, John Wells, Nashville, Tenn., and Robert Wells, Sebering, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and several other relatives.
